CHILD PSYCHOLOGIST IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI

Giving boys and teen boys the support they need and deserve.

Personalized evaluations & therapy focused on finding root causes & creating lasting change.

Growing up is confusing and hard.

Are you a parent noticing changes in your son's behavior? Perhaps he's acting out more, withdrawing from activities, or throwing tantrums that seem out of character. Maybe this isn’t something new and you’ve been dealing with challenging behavior for a while now and it feels like there’s no solution in sight. It's tough to see him struggle, especially when it feels like you're running out of patience and ideas on how to help.

Maybe there's been a significant change in his life — a change in school, a new sibling, a big move, a divorce, or the loss of someone important. These events can hit children and teens hard, and on top of growing up, it can be even harder. It’s not always easy to express their feelings or find someone non-judgemental and trustworthy enough who will really listen and help them sort things out.

You are not alone. It can seem like everyone else has a happy, normal family and you’re the only ones struggling, but many parents feel frustrated and lost trying to help their children open up about their feelings or hurts. You’re eager to help them talk about what’s bothering them and find some solutions —not to mention, some relief.

Hi, I’m Dr. James Feinberg.

I’m here to help you.

As a child and adolescent clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience, I know firsthand the challenges young boys and teens face.

I’m known for being someone who truly listens and makes a difference in the lives of my clients and their families. This work takes patience, diligence, and flexibility to create long-lasting positive change in you and your son’s life.

This isn’t a place to get a “quick fix” and be on your way. I believe in a thorough and thoughtful approach that places the utmost priority on helping your son feel respected and heard. This is an opportunity for parents and sons to find deeper connections and thrive despite current circumstances.

Offering a soft place for these boys to land, not just lessons about how to fly.

Get Started

To create the most meaningful experience, this has to be a good fit for everyone. Let’s begin the process of helping your son reach his fullest potential.

Request evaluation

The first step is reaching out via email to talk about your concerns and request an evaluation for your son. I’ll respond by email to learn more about what’s happening and what has brought you here. I may ask you a few questions for clarity to see if we should proceed further.

1.

Schedule discussion

If we do decide to move forward together, I will set up a 10-15 min phone discussion to talk more about what you're hoping to achieve with the evaluation, including anything more specific about you and your son that I might need to know.

2.

Begin evaluation

If it looks like we're a good fit, we'll move forward together and start the evaluation process. We’ll meet six weeks in a row for 45 minutes. This is a chance for me to really understand what's going on with your son and your household in a more thorough way.
